FAQ:

1. What should we wear?

You should definitly put some thought into your outfit(s). While I don’t think that everyone always needs to wear solid colors they do usually work well. Other options to consider are patterns like plaid or even paisley. Most photographers suggest not wearing shirts with logos or other printed designs. I agree unless it is done purposely. Shirts printed with your favorite sports team or high school mascot can be a great way to personalize a shoot and make it more meaningful. The details matter. Try to think of the little things, like matching children’s hair bows to their shirts or for older girls their nails. I like to get creative with outfits so if you have any ideas or questions I would love to discuss before the shoot!

2. Can I Bring Props?

Absolutely! Bring your grandfather’s hat, your guitar or even a skateboard. What ever that thing is that makes you… well you! Have a family heirloom chair or settee? I can incorporate that into an outdoor family photo session which will be a great way to preserve the heirloom but also provide interesting contrast to your photos!

3. What time of Day is Best?

I recommend shooting in the “Golden Hours.” In photography the Golden Hour is when the sun’s natural light is the most flattering for capturing portraits. There is two Golden Hours each day, the hour after dawn and the hour before sunset. Because most people would rather not get up before dark to shoot family portraits I recommend we schedule in the evening. We can arrange any evening weekday or weekend!

4. How do I pay?

Payments can be made through Invoice, Venmo, ApplePay or by Cash/Check the day of the shoot. No photos will be released until payment is made in full.
